Though the name of the song is Boulevard of Broken Dreams, I listened it a lot of time while I was chasing my dream. I first heard the song when I was in high school. For the whole album, I remembered only this one. Someone interprets the theme of the song as “loneliness and sadness” because of the lyrics “i'm the only one and i walk alone i walk alone i walk alone i walk alone i walk alone”. People who live in an unfamiliar city alone may share the same feeling with the author. Especially when the city is getting dark, people walking to home by himself, it is true that the ideology of the song is about a broken dream.  However I listened to the song each time when I was running. I used to be a chubby girl in the school. After I was laughed by one of my friends unintentional, I decided to start running. It was odd such a song about broken dreams cheered me a lot. I did not feel sad at all when I listened to this song. Actually when I was so tired that I decided to quit, this song made me more energetic.
At first when I decided to use running to lost weight my mom did not support me. She thought being chubby was not a bod thing for teenagers and she also thought running would waste of my study time. I ignored her protest and kept my routines of running every day. Actually running was a very good way for me to release pressure of  my study.Even though my mom did not support me I keep running as a habit as a way of release pressure until now. Like the lyrics of the song, I may be a lonely person while I was running, I did achieve a good result both of my academics and sports.

Common Gestures in My Country

When two people greeting each other in China, the greeting gesture must be shaking each other’s hands without a doubt. Especially for people who work for government agencies, it is the best way to show their politeness the identity they owned and the well education they have received. Unlike people from other countries in Asia like Japan and South Korea, Chinese people rarely bow to each others. I know it is a kind of culture of Japanese people like waiters or sales to bow to customers to show their thanks. In South Korea, women even go down on their knees to welcome their husbands home. Chinese women never do this is mainly because they have their own career, they are not housewives whose living is rely on husbands. Both husbands and wives have equal rights in the family.
Chinses people are usually shy, so we do not kissing and hugging each other when we meet our friends even if we may know each other since we were kids. Shaking hands as a greeting gesture is a more official way to some extent. There is one time my parenets brought me to dinner with their friends most of whom are civil servants. When my mother introducing me to them, some of the uncles skaking their hands with me. I think the scene must be very funny if someone take photos of it. I was like only 15 or 16 years old. I just started to hate things like having dinner with unfamiliar elderships. Shaking hands for me was more like a hypocritical behavior.

Quotation assignment

“Tomorrow is another” quotes from novel Gone with the Wind. This is a famous saying by the heroine Scarlet. Each time when bad things happen, Scarlet uses this sentence to cheer herself up. When her mother dead, when her loved one marries the other girl, when his father breaks his neck by riding the horse, when her family lost all the properties, when her own daughter dead of a horse-riding accident, she all says to herself: “Tomorrow is another day.” Scarlet never gives up the hope of life. She is a strong-willed girl and also a perseverant person. Your attitude decides your life. Life may be tough, but we can choose to face it with a positive attitude. When you feel depressed and upset, take tomorrow as a new start. Facing it with a brave heart. No matter failure or glory, after today it will be the past, tomorrow is the future.
When I was in high school, my physics grade is usually below C. The teacher had called my mom and said that he thought I could never pass the final exam. However I did not give up, the month before the exam I slept only three to four hours a day. Although the teacher did not show any confidence to me, I kept doing my own business. I did each exercise and recite every formula. At last I got A in the final exam which surprised my teacher. If I give up when my teacher  gave up me I could never prove that I can still do good in physics.

                     Response to the second question
It is true that law is created just but it cannot build just and good people. Just laws can only punish those who behave inappropriately. Its dignity can warn people who was not born to evil. To those who was born to evil, even death sentence cannot frighten them, like the serial killer Anton Chigurh in the movie No Country for Old Men. We all know what has happened in Century movie theater in Aurora, Colorado, James Eagan Holmes shot 12 people dead cold-heartedly. When he was in the court, he was sitting there smiling. It seems he was mocking the people he killed. So it is difficult for the nation to use laws to help make its citizens good and just. To prevent gentleman not to prevent the villain. This is an old saying from China. That is to say there is no absolute relationship “just laws” and “just citizens”.

What does independence mean to you

What does independence mean to me? The answer is very simple: live a life by my own. In my country, children used to be taken good care by their parents. Even after eighteen years old, parents still cover everything for their children which make these kids not so mature.
From my personal experience, I have been taken care by my mon for over twenty years. She covers all my living expenses what I need to do is to follow her every word. She make the plan for my life. She decided which university I should go, she decided friends I hang out with. You know, sometimes you will be driven crazy by the rules she made for you. But considering you are not economically independent, you should accept all these things without complain. From this point of view, independence of a person means you have to make a living by yourself.  In addition, in a country like China, if you want to handle everything by your own, to a person who just get graduated from university is impossible. For instance, when you are sick you need to see the doctor and the first minute you arrive the hospital you'll see a endless line in fron of the counter. This is the first step, there are still lines for test and pharmacy. If you have someone who work in the hospital things will be easier. All you need to do is to call your friends to ask for a short path.
